etnies would like to take this moment to proudly introduce the newest addition to our family—a man eclectic and talented enough to be added to an already well-rounded and diverse roster. A man who surfaced on the scene in the mid-90s and following in the footsteps of Tom Penny, elevated switch stance skateboarding to a new level. A man that takes on some of the most unskateable and unlikely terrain—and makes it look effortless and fun. A man who’s produced some of the most unique and entertaining video parts in skateboarding’s history. He gives new meaning to the term “flair”—leopard print is no match for him. A man who doesn’t quite ride for Baker, but is elite enough to continually be granted parts in their videos. A man who almost ollied 25 stairs in Flip’s Sorry and if it wasn’t for the reality of inertia and gravity, he might have actually landed it. He’s a man who’ll take etnies to realms it’s never seen before. He could be like every other pro if he wanted to—instead, he chooses to be Ali Boulala and we’re delighted to welcome him to the team.

I'll be heading down to ASR for yet another weekend full of trade show high jinx and to kick off the beginning of a year's worth of etnies 20th anniversary parties. Taj Mihelich is going to be out and about around the country in February touring with The Redneck Manifesto. Here's the note from Taj:
Hi Everyone,
In February I'm going out on tour with my good friends and one of my favorite bands, The Redneck Manifesto from Dublin, Ireland. I'll be driving them from place to place, carrying their gear and running their merch table at the shows. I want to invite everyone in the BMX world out to the shows. The Redneck Manifesto is considered one of Ireland's top bands and they are amazing and fun to see live. The tour is getting support from Fender and good old etnies. Come out, say hello and have some fun!

etnies was born in France in 1986 to meet the footwear needs of skateboarders and that very same passion and commitment to action sports has led to many innovations over the last 20 years. Accomplishments span from creating the first-ever pro model skate shoe, the Natas, to the development of the first and only biomechanics lab that creates technology that enhances rider performance and reduces injuries, the Sole Technology Institute. etnies is driven by action sports and has given back to the action sports community since its inception through building the etnies Skatepark of Lake Forest, supporting skateparks all over the world, organizing and hosting contests and supporting the finest amateur and professional team riders.
