Motivate!
by: Brink | Friday, May 30, 2008
Here's a few clips that have been keeping us motivated as we continue the Recognition Tour. You may know some of 'em, but watch again and have a laugh on us anyway. Next stop, Ohio!
Atlanta skatepark clips!
by: Brink | Wednesday, May 28, 2008
What could be better than a private Progressive session on Friday night before the demo on Saturday? Not much.
Then we stopped by Hazard County Skatepark for a bit before leaving Atlanta. Here's some park clips Mikey, Leeper, Fletcher, filmer boy Mike Manzoori and our new 12-year-old friend, Shaquille O'Neal.
etnies Presents... the GZA!
by: Alex | Wednesday, May 28, 2008
Looking back at GZA's 1995 East Coast hip hop renaissance masterpiece, Liquid Swords, it's obvious that its dark samples and varying subject matter still retain the power to yank you head-first into its insular and matchless soundscape. The Genius' rabbit hole of subject matters (ranging from chess, inner-city crime, philosophy, and the Asian cinema cult film Shogun Assassin) serve much more than pop culture detritus, so its no wonder that All Tomorrow's Parties and Pitchfork asked GZA to play Swords during last year's Don't Look Back event. Despite the particularly tough task of recreating such an intricate album on the road, GZA will do just that on his upcoming "Liquid Swords 2008 Tour". Don't miss one of the founders of the Wu Tang Clan when he rocks Vancouver this summer, "he's on a Mission, that niggaz say is Impossible, but when he swings his swords they all Choppable".

Fletcher @ Progressive!

Until we get the proper demo footage going, have a look at some of my low budge footage of Eric Fletcher killing the double set at the Progressive Skatepark demo last Saturday.
While we're in Atlanta...
by: Brink | Sunday, May 25, 2008

So we just wrapped up our Recognition Tour demo in Atlanta at Progressive Skatepark... the place is sick and the team ripped. While you wait a few minutes for some clips, have a look at Malto in the second trailer for TransWorld's And Now and a trick or two from last year's Downtown Showdown on StrangeNotes. Malto is on the Girl vs. Anti Hero tour at the moment, sleeping in the van, but will be joining us shortly for the rest of the tour. In the meantime, watch him kill it in Portland

In other clip worthy news, you can watch a rebroadcast of Rune destroying the Pool Party, right here.
Journeys Backyard BBQ Photos
by: Alex | Thursday, May 15, 2008
Last Saturday was our day in Dallas and it was a hot one! Lucky for those Texans, the triple digit heat and scorching sun didn't stop the etnies team from heating things up even more at the Journeys Backyard BBQ.

Lauren, Eric and Kyle all love media interviews at 7am... especially when the interview is with this guy.
Texas is Eric Fletcher's favorite state.

Kyle Leeper still likes squirrels.

The ladies love Ryan Sheckler.

While dodging Sheckler fans' panties, Morgan Wade fires out one of his trademark high and mighty flairs.

A Rolling Perspective Gallery
by: Alex | Tuesday, May 6, 2008
The opening exhibition of A Rolling Perspective, presented by etnies and Color Magazine, went off without a hitch. And the ensuing after party at The Sweatshop likewise went off. The show is a collection of self portraits by skaters from all over, including our man Mikey Taylor. Check out the ginormous photo gallery to see what you missed out on. All photos by Ian Jolin-Rasmussen and Color Magazine.

etnies & R Newbold
by: Alex | Monday, May 5, 2008
R. Newbold is your Newbold... that is, if you live in Japan.
Inspired by British summer music festivals and available only in Japan, the etnies & R. Newbold Collaboration is limited edition fashion at its finest. The collection's allover Sunglasses print adds distinct, shady style to the etnies Jameson and El-Jefe II.

Fun, fresh and sure to go fast, this just might be all you get to see of these puppies.
Check out the buzz...
