Rise Against are back to bring you one of the most anticipated follow-up releases in Fat Wreck history, Revolutions Per Minute. In a time where emo-screamo bands are a dime a dozen, Rise Against clearly stand out as the premier hardcore outfit of the day, and RPM will prove just that. Packed with powerful lyrics and even more powerful music, this latest record takes on the current socio-political climate with the fury and urgency that the genre currently lacks.

Rise Against is a four-piece melodic hardcore unit from Chicago, a town dedicated to independent music and a city that is boiling over with punk rock talent. Influenced by old school punk heavies like Bad Religion, Minor Threat and Bad Brains, these guys have a fresh sound with roots that run deep. They formed out of the ashes of the Windy City's seminal hardcore group, 88 Fingers Louie, a band that founded the Chicago underground scene. Rise Against is certain to make their own mark on the scene.

This band is a product of four people's sincere devotion to underground music and the hardcore scene. Vocalist Tim says: "Rise Against is very serious. We're not overtly political, but we're about emotion and personal politics." Their existence is proof alone that they are dedicated and committed to furthering positive ideas through punk music. Bassist Joe puts it best: "Hardcore music is definitely our passion. It's what we do. We go to shows, we write songs. We take pride in our lyrics and we want the kids to get the message."

Their debut full length, The Unraveling, came out on Fat Wreck Chords in the Spring of 2001 and was received to much critical acclaim. Recorded by Mass Giorgini (Anti-Flag, Smoking Popes, Screeching Weasel), the breakthrough album had such an impact, it quickly made Rise Against the most talked about new band on Fat. The Unraveling was not only a hit with fans, but also among their colleagues, as they were asked to go out on tour with bands like AFI, Thursday, NOFX, Poison the Well, Sick of it All, Strung Out and more.

Rise Against has big touring plans in support of Revolutions Per Minute. They'll be main support on the 2003 Fat Tour in both North America and Europe, then they're off to join the Warped Tour. The hard work and hard rock won't stop there, as you can expect to see Rise Against everywhere in 2003!
